Bay of Islands Three Day Tour

Our three day tour of the Bay of Islands includes the ‘Hole in the Rock and Dolphin‘ boat cruise, a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty grounds, a day trip to Cape Reinga and time to explore historic Russell and Paihia.

We pick you up from your Auckland hotel in one of our luxury vehicles. Our experienced guide will give you insights into the areas we travel through on the way to Paihia in the Bay of Islands.

From Paihia your guide will take you the short drive to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds where one of their local guides will show you around this historic site. Hear about how the Treaty of Waitangi was created, visit the carved Māori meeting house and learn about the meanings behind the buildings and the carvings. You will have time to look around the grounds and the museum as well.

We then take you back to Paihia for you to board the ferry for a short (10 minute) trip to historic Russell. You have the afternoon at leisure in Russell, plenty of time for lunch and exploring. Spend as long as you want in Russell and when you return to Paihia it is a one minute walk to the fabulous Kingsgate Hotel Autolodge Paihia* where your bags will be waiting for you to check in.

The evening is at your leisure and the hotel is only a one minute walk from the restaurants and bars of Paihia.

*Subject to availability at time of booking

Journey to the very tip of the North Island and uncover a region of rich Māori tradition along the way on an unforgettable full-day tour.
Travel along the sand-swept shore of Ninety Mile Beach in our purpose-built coach.

If you feel like it you can also climb the massive sand dunes at Te Paki Stream and experience the thrill of sand-boarding.

In Māori tradition, Cape Reinga or Te Rerenga Wairua is the place where spirits depart on their long journey back to the homeland. Stand at the northernmost point of New Zealand and drink in the panoramic views. As you stand beneath the iconic lighthouse, and watch the Tasman Sea and the mighty Pacific Ocean collide far below, you’ll feel the power of this special place.

Throughout the day your local driver guide will provide an entertaining and thought-provoking insight into the culture, history and natural wonders of the Far North.

Your tour also includes a delicious locally-prepared lunch to keep you fueled throughout the day. (Please let us know any dietary requirements when you book).
