Running every day this is an opportunity to visit not only Piha, but also the Arataki Visitors Centre. We have been running tours in this area for over 35 years so can give you insights and great local knowledge.
After being picked up in Auckland, our first stop is at the Arataki Visitor Centre at the entrance to the Waitakere Ranges rainforest. The Arataki Visitors Centre has dramatic panoramic views across the rainforest and both of Auckland’s harbours as well as views back to Auckland City. It is also home to some traditional Māori carvings and your guide will talk about them and explain their significance for the area. You will have some time to explore the centre as well.
We then head out to Piha for a stop at the iconic Piha store where you can buy some lunch before we can give you some options as to what you want to do with the rest of your time in Piha. You might want to walk up to the Kitekite waterfall and go for a swim or you might want to spend all of your time at the beach? You might want to combine both – your guide will help you get to do what you want to do in Piha before heading back to the city.
This day trip is ideal if you don’t know the Piha area or are worried about the driving – our guides know this area like the back of their hands and are expert drivers on the Piha road.
Please note that lunch is not included but there is the opportunity to purchase it at Piha or bring your own picnic lunch.
A minimum of 2 people are required for this tour to run.
The Piha day trip runs every day of the week.
